McKinley Elementary School is partnering with Abington Friends School for their King Day of Service and Social Justice Symposium. As we approach Martin Luther King Day, many families are looking for ways to give back to their community. For many years, AFS has brought the community together for an inspirational day of service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and worked with volunteers from across the region on behalf of those in our community. UPDATE: The Board of School Directors took a key step forward in its planning process for the future of Abington Middle School. After reviewing community survey results and assessing research and independent analysis, the Board expressed a desire to pursue a plan to build one new middle school on the current campus. The District will now prepare a resolution to fund this project through a referendum, which would be voted on by Abington Township and Borough of Rockledge residents. The Board will review and vote on this resolution at the January 28 meeting of the Board of School Directors. Royal Court Meet & Greet 2025....Come and meet your favorite Royal Characters at Abington Senior High School on January 25, 2025 beginning promptly at 10 AM and concluding at the strike of 12 PM. Attached is the flyer for the event which has a QR Code parents/guardians can use to sign their elementary school aged children up to participate. Dr. Fecher is continuing his TableTalks in the 2024-2025 school year by joining PTO/PTA meetings across the District. Last night, he talked with parents and guardians at McKinley Elementary School to listen to their feedback in a small group setting. #ASDProud
Now through March 31, everyone who shops at the GIANT on Susquehanna Road in Roslyn will be invited to “round up” at the register and donate the round-up amount of their bill to support Feeding School Kids. Customers can also give by converting their CHOICE Rewards Points to donations in the GIANT app, or by purchasing a reusable bag.
At the end of March, all round-up donations will be tallied and donated to Abington School District. Donations have been used by the Student Services Department to purchase GIANT gift cards that are distributed by our social workers directly to our families in need in order to help supplement the cost of their groceries.

McKinley's Dragon Ambassadors made Holiday cards for local Veterans. The students wanted to spread joy and appreciation towards veterans during the holiday season!

Dragon Ambassadors organized a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support the Jenkintown Food Cupboard, successfully collecting 147 pounds of food for those in need.

McKinley Best Buddies' second event was a success! Students and staff participated enthusiastically in the fall activity. The event helped build excitement and camaraderie among the participants, making it a memorable and positive experience for everyone involved.
McKinley Duo Spirit Day was a success, with students and staff coming together to show school spirit.
Ms. Guglielmelli’s Third Grade Class celebrated American Education Week today. The students and their families created Thankful Turkeys. The students wrote creative stories about their pet turkey. They read their favorite stories too. It was a wonderful celebration in 3rd Grade!
