At the Montgomery County's Juneteenth celebration in Norristown, ASHS rising 11th grader Maddie Krassner's essay was selected as one of the winning entries. Maddie participated in the Juneteenth flag raising ceremony this morning, where she read an excerpt from her essay. She also received a $100 gift card and a beautiful certificate. #SummerinASD

Students enjoyed water ice, toured an Abington Township police vehicle, and raced Duke the police dog. Not to be out done, Sergeant LaRosa also agreed to race the students, though there is still some debate around who won. #ASDProud
