The Fugarolas and Hannum families, including AMS 6th grader Laia Fugarolas & her brother & sister Jordi and Gemma (Rydal, grades 1 & 3), and Rydal 5th grader Quinn Hannum and her brothers Wes and Seamus (Rydal grades 3 & K), spent the last weeks of summer in la Costa Brava, Spain. As an age-appropriate lesson on 9/11 for some of our youngest learners in Abington School District, elementary schools focused on the themes of community and heroism today. In Mr. Hudson's 1st grade Explorations class at McKinley, this involved making thank you cards for our local firefighters.

At last night's Board meeting, Dr. Fecher and Dr. Mowry honored Mr. Christopher Lionetti, Chief Financial Officer and Board Secretary, ahead of his retirement following 32 years of service to the Abington School District, including 16 years leading the Business Office. #ASDProud #OneASD

#SummerinASD: ASHS students Kaycie Applegate, Nick Burlingame, Greg Grey, Kolton Inverso, Darwin Liu, Adelyn Shore, Micah Ufberg, Watson van Ekeleberg and Michelle Verbilla, traveled to the rural community of Keur Coly Diouf in Senegal this July to support BuildOn's constructiction of a new school alongside community members. Twenty Abington Senior High juniors and seniors visited Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands in July. They explored conservation and breeding efforts at the Charles Darwin Center, snorkeled with the sea lions, walked with giant Galapagos tortoises, hiked through lava volcanoes, took a boat to see penguins, and visited the equatorial line! #SummerinASD
