Willow Hill Elementary School hosted cartoonist Jamar Nicholas last week, who spoke to 4th and 5th graders. Students had a chance to hear how he became a cartoonist, draw with him, and have a meet and greet as well! #ASDProud
Last week, Overlook hosted Holocaust Survivor George Marcus. 5th graders were captivated by Mr. Marcus' incredible story of how he & his family were able to escape Germany at the outbreak of the Holocaust.

Last week, the ASHS student-run A Cappella group, the Abingtones, performed a standing-room only concert in the Black Box Theater. The student-run group meets regularly during Lunch & Learn to coordinate voice and choreography, and even performed earlier that day at Lafayette Redeemer Senior Center. #ASDProud #ArtsinASD

At Tuesday's Board meeting, Dr. Fecher and Board Vice President Dr. Melissa Mowry recognized Board President Mrs. Shameeka Browne on being named a winner in the Champion of Equity - District Leadership category of the second annual Excellence in Equity Awards program for educators, presented by the American Consortium for Equity in Education. The winning nominees were selected based on outstanding achievement in supporting equitable access, opportunity, and outcomes for all learners. #ASDProud #AwardsofASD
