Sending a big THANK YOU to the Class of 1975 and their donation to the school and its students. On Friday, the Regional Cuisine classes had the opportunity to meet Chef Max Schindler. He gave a quick presentation on his experiences and background. Sharing his passion for the culinary arts. He encouraged the students to be brave and try new foods. We were lucky enough to also have a live food demonstration. He demonstrated how to roll 3 kinds of sushi rolls and discussed the fundamental skills needed. He shared his knowledge of ingredients and how interchangeable they can be. The students were super grateful to learn this new skill and few had never tried this type of cuisine before. It was a great experience for all. We are #AbingtonProud #ASHSProud #FirstinActivities

On Monday, November 10th, Abington Senior High School students in the Biomedical Pathway attended a Career Chatter event in Mr. Heine’s room, C221, featuring guest speaker Dr. Maria Radu. Students gave up their lunch period to meet with Dr. Radu, who serves as Director and Principal Scientist at Merck, where she leads vaccine research aimed at protecting people from serious diseases. During the session, students asked thoughtful questions about her educational journey and professional experiences. Dr. Radu shared insights from her path, which began with earning a medical degree in Romania and continued with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Temple University. With over 20 published papers and experience teaching biology and cancer research courses, she offered valuable advice and encouragement to aspiring scientists. The event, sponsored by the Abington Medical Club and PLTW Biomedical Science Pathway, gave students an inspiring look into real-world biomedical careers.

👏 A huge thank you to Matt Magida for another fantastic visit!

Across four sessions this year, our students have explored an incredible range of topics — from fast fashion to Abington PD records, agriculture in the Netherlands, and today’s deep dive into the data behind the rise of K-pop. Each lesson has opened our students’ eyes to just how wide-ranging, relevant, and exciting data analytics can be. We’re so grateful for the time and energy you’ve invested in bringing these subjects to life!

A special shoutout to Dr. Fecher and Dr. Swift for stopping by to see Matt’s work in action. 🌟

Since the entire Abington School District community couldn't make it out to Manchester for last week's state championship soccer game, the ASHS Boys Varsity Soccer team brought the celebration to our schools today! The players and coaches went on a victory tour around the district, visiting all seven elementary schools and the Middle School, where they had an opportunity to high-five their fans and sign autographs for the younger students. #ASDProud

🦃 A Feast to Be Thankful For! 🦃

Today, our Abington Senior High School Culinary Arts students, led by their teacher, Mrs. Kate England, showcased their talent, teamwork, and passion by preparing a full Thanksgiving meal from scratch! From planning the menu to mastering new techniques, these students poured hours of learning and hard work into every dish.

We were honored to have our superintendent, Dr. Fecher, join us to carve the turkey, adding a special touch to a wonderful celebration. Students also invited faculty and staff to share in the meal—turning the day into a warm, community-centered gathering.
