Ms. Steinmetz’s first grade class took part in National STEM/STEAM Day at Copper Beech. They were working hard to learn and practice coding to move their robot friend, Botley. What a fun way to incorporate science and technology in the classroom!

The Copper Beech Student Council sorted over 300 pairs of socks to be donated to those in need. What a great way for the CB community to give back! #CBPROUD #CBCARES

Buddy activities at Copper Beech are always the best time! Students in Ms. Allen's first grade class and Mrs. McFadden's fourth grade class spent time making creative masks for the Fall season.

Second graders at Copper Beech are working on some fun experiments in science! They are learning about different components of soil, and what their textures are like when they are both wet and dry. #CBproud #CBCARES

It's National School Bus Safety Week, and there's no better time than now to familiarize yourself with school bus stopping laws:
1) When you meet a stopped school bus with red signal lights flashing and stop arm extended, you MUST STOP.
2) When you approach an intersection where a school bus is stopped with red signal lights flashing and stop arm extended, you MUST STOP, whether you are on the same street or the cross street.
3) You MUST STOP at least 10 feet away from the school bus.
4) Drivers do not have to stop on a highway with clearly defined dividing sections or physical barriers providing separate roadways. This only applies when the school bus is on the opposite side of the road.
5) You MUST WAIT until the red lights have stopped flashing and the stop arm has been withdrawn before moving.
6) DO NOT MOVE until all the children have reached a place of safety.
Please keep in mind that stop-arm safety technology is being installed on all ASD school buses to help Abington Police better enforce school bus stopping laws. The safety of our students as they travel to and from school is the responsibility of our entire community!

The Abington School District community is invited to join the students and staff of Abington Senior High School at the annual Trunk or Treat event, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25, from 5-7 p.m. in the high school faculty parking lot. Costumes are encouraged!
