Dear Willow Hill Parents/Guardians:
Welcome back! Summer vacations provide time for rest and relaxation. I hope that your children have been reading, practicing their mathematics, and are ready for the start of another productive and successful year at Willow Hill Elementary School.
As I prepare for my seventeenth year as principal of the most dynamic and culturally diverse elementary school in the Abington School District, I am proud of our continuous progress. This progress, in part, is the result of our shared vision, which is deeply rooted in a culture and climate consisting of high expectations for teaching and learning, as well as equitable and consistent opportunities for children to progress and excel. However, we must not allow success to breed complacency, but rather continue to push forward to achieve greater success.
Below are live links that will direct you to pertinent information to review as you and your child prepare for the beginning of the school year, which starts on Tuesday, September 3. Please click on each link and read all information carefully.
Fast Facts- Contact information, hours of operation, enrollment, etc.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures - Specific guidelines designed to keep students, staff, and visitors safe during arrival and dismissal.
Wellness Policy – Pertinent information regarding the student wellness policy, lunch program, and food allergy management procedures.

As we plan for the first day of school, it is necessary for us to obtain arrival and dismissal information for your child(ren). Please access our arrival and dismissal website using the following link Willow Hill Arrival/Dismissal. Once you have successfully accessed the website please complete the following steps:
Select your child’s grade level.
Select your child’s teacher.
Answer each question listed on the Google form. Be certain to click the “next’ button at the bottom as there are two pages to complete.
Click “submit.”
If you have more than one child that attends Willow Hill, you must complete steps 1-4 above for each child. I ask that you complete this request by Thursday, August 29.
As parents, you are an integral part of your child’s academic development. Your engagement is essential; therefore, I challenge you to become active participants in our learning community. Please log on to our website at http://www.abington.k12.pa.us/willowhill/ and then click on the PTO link to view opportunities to get involved. For additional volunteer opportunities, please contact your child’s teacher or the main office at 215.657.3800.
In conclusion, you are reminded that the first student day is Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Children may begin arriving at 8:30 a.m. All classroom teachers will be positioned on the black top with a sign indicating their name and grade level assignment. To ensure the safety of your children and our students, you are reminded that parking is not allowed along the drop off circle (during arrival) parallel to the primary playground or the bus lane (during arrival and dismissal) parallel to the main office.
Enjoy the remainder of your summer break and I look forward to working with you and your children this upcoming school year.
Sincerely,
Damon R. Jordan, Ed.D.
Principal
