Dear Abington School District Community,
As I mentioned in my last communication, we have been in consultation with the Abington Township Police Department regarding ways to enhance safety measures at Schwarzman Stadium. For tomorrow’s 11:30 a.m. football game against Council Rock North, the following protocols will be implemented:
As always, we will have Abington Township Police Officers on site, in addition to our School Police Officer and District security guards.
Abington Township Police and our School Police Officer will be screening all attendees using handheld metal detectors before entry to the stadium.
All students must show either an Abington School District-issued ID, or a Council Rock North ID. If students do not have an ID, they must show proof of enrollment at either of these two schools.
No re-entry into the stadium will be permitted for any guests, regardless of timing in relation to the game.
No backpacks or large bags will be permitted. Please leave them at home or in your vehicle.
Face coverings will not be permitted, unless for religious or medical purposes. If needed, a medical mask can be provided upon request.
No liquids or bottles will be allowed into the stadium. Drinks will be sold at the concession stand.
We thank everyone for their support in following these protocols as we work to ensure a safe event for all attendees. We will continue to explore additional safety measures. If you have any questions, please contact the Interim Athletic Director, Mr. Charles Grasty, by email or phone (215-884-4700 x2395).
Regards,
Jeffrey S. Fecher, Ed.D.
