On April 3, Abington School District will host a community event to provide information about the proposed $285 million investment plan and the May 20 bond referendum to build a new Middle School.
The event will be held in the Abington Middle School Little Theater Lobby on Thursday, April 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. It will feature building tours and details on challenges, facilities planning, the proposed plan, cost and tax impact, and voting. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and share feedback with District leadership.
“Community input has been at the center of our facilities planning process,” said Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Fecher. “After years of planning and listening to our community, we know that investing in the middle school is essential and that residents want a voice in this decision. The April 3 event is another opportunity for residents, parents, and guardians to learn more about the proposed plan and have the information they need to make an informed decision on the referendum.”
After a multi-year planning process, the District is proposing a $285 million investment plan to build a new Middle School. The new school would be purposefully designed to support modern education, meet student needs, improve accessibility, foster a positive school culture, and provide long-term value for the community. Abington Township and the Borough of Rockledge residents will vote on the $285 million bond referendum on Tuesday, May 20.
