Greetings Overlook Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! On behalf of the entire staff, I hope you and your family had an enjoyable and relaxing summer and are ready to start another productive and successful year at Overlook Elementary School.
As I begin my second year as principal of Overlook Elementary and my thirty-first year as an educator, I am very fortunate and Overlook Proud to be the educational leader of a school with such a diverse population of students and a staff dedicated to meeting all learners' educational, social, and emotional needs. Reflecting on my first year as a principal and on Overlook’s vision of helping students develop an appreciation of the school’s diversity and camaraderie through providing a positive school climate where children can strive to meet their full potential, I look forward to growing as an instructional leader and continuing the traditions which guide students to a path of life-long learning and excellence. I am also excited to establish new traditions and partnerships with Overlook families and the school community to ensure our students succeed and become outstanding future leaders.

Access the above link to register your child for the YMCA’s before and/or after-school program. You can also contact Ms. Talaya Brown at 215-309-0374 ext. 1 to register over the phone.
Specific guidelines are designed to keep students, staff, and visitors safe during arrival and dismissal.
As we plan for the first day of school, it is necessary for us to obtain dismissal information for your child(ren). Complete the Overlook Dismissal Form after accessing your child’s class placement via Skyward on Wednesday, August 23rd, by using the following link:
Once you have successfully accessed the link above, please complete the following steps:
Select your child’s grade level.
Select your child’s teacher.
Answer each question listed on the Google form.
Click “submit.”
If you have more than one child that attends Overlook, you must complete steps 1-4 above for each child. Please complete this request by Friday, September 1st.
As parents, you are integral to your child’s academic development. Your engagement is essential; therefore, I challenge you to actively participate in our learning community. Please log on to our PTO’s website at Overlook PTO to view opportunities to get involved. In conclusion, you are reminded that the first student day for K-5 is Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Children may begin arriving at 8:30 a.m. The Kindergarten teachers will be on the kindergarten playground to greet our incoming kindergarteners. The teachers in grades 1-5 will be positioned on the black top with a sign indicating their name and grade level assignment to greet our Overlook Owls.
To ensure the safety of your children and our students, you are reminded that parking is not allowed along the front loop of the school, the bus loop located on Old Welsh Road, or the staff parking lot located on Silver Avenue during arrival or dismissal.
