At last night's meeting of the Board of School Directors, the Teaching and Learning Department presented the 2024 Mathematics Achievement Awards, which recognize elementary and middle school students for their accomplishments in the Pennsylvania Statistics Poster Competition, the Mathematical Olympiads and the Continental Mathematics League Competition. Highland's teachers who participate in the Best Buddies program once a month.


On Wednesday, April 17th, Highland celebrated our school's different cultures in the annual Diversity Fair and Potluck. Families were invited to set up a table about their heritage, and students were able to get passport stamps as they learned about different places in the world. Courtyard Dancers, a troupe that celebrates traditional Indian dance, held a performance, and everyone was able to partake in different dishes brought by the attendees.










We are grateful to receive more than $9,500 from @Giant as part of the 2024 #FeedingSchoolKids initiative! Every dollar contributed by local Giant shoppers will be used by our Student Services Department to purchase grocery giftcards for our families in need. #EliminatingHunger

Highland's performance of Frozen was held this past week. We are so proud of our students in fourth and fifth grade who participated in the show. We also want to thank all of our parent volunteers for their dedication to making this show such a success!

REMINDER: The Abington School District team of home and school visitors is partnering with High Focus Treatment Centers to bring a Health & Wellness Fair to the Abington School District. This event will run in conjunction with the annual College and Career Fair hosted by the Abington Senior High School Counseling Department on Thursday, March 7, starting at 6 p.m. The Health & Wellness Fair portion will be housed in the library and is open to all ASD families. Highland had their One Book One School assembly last week. The book this year is The Chocolate Touch written by Patrick Skene Carling. Every class in the school will read the book together and students have the chance to answer trivia questions about each chapter!






Due to the inclement weather, all Abington School District schools and offices will be closed today, February 13, 2024. As this is our third emergency closure due to weather, there will be no instruction for students.
