The following is a message from the Going Green Club and Gen Z for Sustainability:
Last year, Abington Township was the only municipality in the state of Pennsylvania to achieve an A+ rating from the DEP for Municipal Recycling. But we need to be vigilant and stay focused – we want to remind you to recycle properly at home in Abington township:
Blue bins are for clear and colored glass, plastics labeled #1-7, and aluminum and steel cans. Everything in the recycle bins should be clean and dry.
Grey bins are for paper, cardboard, newspaper, junk mail, magazines and books. Nothing with food residue, such as pizza boxes, can go in the bins.
Please do not put your recycling in plastic bags and please remember to not put any trash in the recycling bins. If in doubt, throw it out!
Let’s keep Abington Green and Sustainable!
