RED RIBBON WEEK: ”Wake Up Drug Free!” We hope to see many bright colors today signifying that you had a bright start to a drug free day. We at Abington Middle School want you to lead happy, healthy, fun and wonderful lives. We know that by making healthy choices, like staying drug free, you are more likely to live the best life for you. So, take a moment to commit to yourself that you will continue to make healthy choices to ensure a brighter future. Tomorrow’s theme is “Team Up Against Drugs” Wear clothing that represents your favorite sports team.
STUDENT COUNCIL: "Student Council is sponsoring the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are collecting canned and boxed goods to benefit families in our Abington community as the holiday season approaches. Collection locations are Ms. Cantwell's room (157), Mr. Mingacci's room (325), and the cart in the front lobby. The collection will run from 10/18 through November 10th. We thank you in advance for your support!"
ALL AMS STUDENTS:
M4 invites all AMS students to attend the Philadelphia Flyers game on Tuesday, November 28 at the Wells Fargo Center against the Carolina Hurricanes. We are also inviting students to attend the Philadelphia 76ers game on January 22 against the San Antonio Spurs. The cost is $50 for one game and $90 for both. There will be M4 bands playing on the Wells Fargo Center Concourse. Come to M5 and get a form from Mr. Aguilar if you are interested. Sales for the Flyers will close November 20, and for the Sixers will be January 12.
Attention all GSA members: Our next meeting is this afternoon from 3:00-4:00 in Commons A. If you haven't signed up yet, visit Ms. McGuffin in room 334 or Ms. Benner in room 220 for more information.
7th & 8th Grade Girls Basketball:
For both 7th and 8th Grade girls interested in playing basketball this season, Please go to the Little Theatre This Friday the 27th of October during Advisory from 9:35 to 10:55 for the Interest Meeting.

ABINGTHON: AMS
Abingthon leaders will be here to help students sign up on Friday, October 27th and Monday, October 30th. during lunches in the commons.
WRESTLING TEAM:
Any 7th or 8th grade students who would like to join the wrestling team in December should plan to attend an interest meeting after school on Thursday November 2nd in room P102. You should also immediately begin submitting your PIAA health forms on the Planet HS / Big Teams website. Information about this process can be found on the middle school athletics webpage.
BANDS IN THE BONEYARD:
The ASHS Marching Ghosts are hosting our annual "Bands in the Boneyard" this Saturday, October 28 in Schwarzmann Stadium. There are 5 bands performing and the event goes from 5:45-7:15 PM. The weather forecast is looking perfect for a nice fall night!
Tickets will be sold at the gate: $12 for staff/seniors/students (AMS Music students are free with a paying adult), $15 for adults, $45 family package, children under 5 are free.
