Title IX Information

It is the policy of Abington School District to provide an equal opportunity for all students to achieve their maximum potential through the programs offered in the schools regardless of race, color, national origin/ethnicity, ancestry, veteran status, gender, age, disability or handicap, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or religion. The District shall provide to all students, without discrimination, course offerings, counseling, assistance, employment, athletics, and extracurricular activities. The District shall make reasonable accommodations for identified physical and mental impairments that constitute disabilities, consistent with the requirements of Federal and state laws and regulations.

Further, the District will provide equality of opportunity in employment by preventing against discrimination, investigating allegations of discrimination and correcting discriminatory behavior if found to exist within the district. No reprisals nor retaliation shall occur as a result of good faith charges of nondiscrimination. The District also maintains that all forms of prohibited harassment breach the trust that is expected and required in order for members of the educational community to be free to learn and work. 

Designation of Title IX Coordinator and Contact Information

In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972, the District has a designated Title IX Coordinator who should be contacted regarding any inquiries as to the application of Title IX or filing a harassment complaint.
