Testing and Assessments
Abington School District administers an annual schedule of testing and assessments that aim to provide information on the proficiency of students via standardized tests of achievement and aptitude. This information is vital to the development of an instructional program that maximizes the growth of every student in the school district. In addition, the results of these tests provide an ongoing record of each student’s academic progress compared with students within the state—and, on selected tests—throughout the nation.
Specific concerns regarding your child and this testing program should be referred to the elementary principal or the secondary school guidance counselor. Each year the program and schedule is approved by the Board of School Directors and made available to parents.
Specific testing dates are available via the following link.

If parents/guardians have concerns about their student’s participation in state assessments, please see the Superintendent’s Administrative Procedure on Nonparticipation in Selected Instruction/State Assessments
