Dr. Morgan is a dedicated educator with experience and expertise in diverse school communities and different grade levels. Dr. Morgan has been a member of the Abington School District community since 2005. She began her career in Abington as a teacher of third and fifth grades at Rydal Elementary. For seven years she served as an Elementary Curriculum Specialist, three years at Willow Hill Elementary School and four years at Rydal. Prior to joining the Abington School District staff, she taught first and eighth grades in the Philadelphia School District and kindergarten in the Cheltenham School District.
Dr. Morgan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University in Communications and Education, a Masters degree in Education from Temple University, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Temple University. She is also a certified Reading Specialist. Dr. Morgan is a lifelong learner and is a third generation educator. She values the impact and opportunity that education provides and is committed to exposing students to all possibilities.
Dr. Morgan holds community in high regard and utilizes a collaborative approach to the education of each child. With great consideration of the impact and integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) in classrooms, Dr. Morgan values the individual strengths and interests that students bring to their school experience that promote the “Four Cs” in classroom practices; communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. She believes that schools and families working as a team is essential in the development of successful global learners that become active citizens. A safe and nurturing environment is essential for optimal learning outcomes and Dr. Morgan is devoted to providing leadership that fosters such child-centered characteristics.
